Zashiki-warashi, Child of Fortune.
A Japanese yōkai that takes the form of a child. It is said that if a zashiki-warashi visits a home and is noticed by an inhabitant of the home, then it takes up a residence itself, causing the household to come to great fortune. If it should leave, then the fortune of the houselhold will decline. However, to keep one in the home, the zashiki-warashi requires care and attention, like that of a child. It is also prone to pranks and mischief.
